SEMANA DEL ARTE EN EL FOCO: LA IDENTiDAD FOTOGRÁFiCA DE ROBERT

ARTiSTA @ROBERTRAUSCH

Raised in a quaint rural town in the South, Robert faced the challenges of a speech impediment and dyslexia, which made traditional schooling a struggle. However, he discovered his innate talent for capturing balance and beauty through the lens of a camera. Robert’s photography delves into themes of identity, along with the dreams and desires that define our essence.

His photographs often blend real-life narratives with elements of fable, offering a profound exploration of identity and equality. Robert employs himself as the subject in his works, weaving tales of desire, conflict, and the fundamental concepts of good versus evil, right versus wrong.

Educationally, Robert honed his skills at the prestigious Parsons School of Design in Paris, France, followed by a Masters of Fine Art from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. His remarkable photography has graced the pages of esteemed publications such as the New York Times, Travel & Leisure, Garden and Gun, Southern Living, Ladies Home Journal, Elle, American Craft, Cottage Living, and Veranda.

Currently residing on a serene farm in northern Alabama, Robert continues to contribute significantly to the photographic arts. His work is set to be showcased during Art Week CDMX 2024, featured at both the Clavo Movimiento art fair and in Art Gallery Studios. Additionally, The Bureau of Queer Art offers an insightful podcast interview available on all podcast platforms, where listeners can delve into Robert’s meticulous process of crafting each element in his photography.
